if it won't crank and gas is mixing into the oil you probably have a messed up pistonor gap in the cylinder wall
this is a common problem on these cars.....the distributor is likely the problem.
The p0320m is a crankshaft position malfunction. The sensor could be bad, it could be a wiring issue, or a distributor problem.
It is the sensor in the distributor under the cap and rotor. It is the sensor in the distributor under the cap and rotor.
There was only a visible cam sensor on '98-2001 Explorer 302's. If you have a distributor, your cam sensor is in the distributor. If you don't have a distributor, it is where the distributor used to be on the front of the intake manifold.
The cam position sensor is inside the distributor. There is a wire harness that exits the side of the distributor. That's it. You have to remove the distributor to change that sensor.
te coolant temp sensor!
There isn't a "cam sensor", because the car has a distributor. So the ignition module attached to the side of the distributor connects to a hall effect sensor that is in the distributor under the circular slotted vanes attached to the distributor shaft. There is a four pointed star-looking piece in the distributor that should be firmly fixed to the shaft. If that piece is loose, that may be your problem (you'll need to buy a new dist). The sensor itself rarely fails.
the cam position sensor is part of the distributor and cannot be serviced seperately. i had this problem when the check engine light was on, code says Camshaft Position Sensor is bad and also the code for bad Knock Sensor. these problems makes my 2000 Nissan Xterra stall and created knocking noise, after do some research. i called the dealer, they told me i have to replace to whole new distributor, which cost about $400. I call the shop names A.D.S ( Alternator, Distributor, Starter service ) they rebuilt my distributor for less than $100. problem solved. there is a small bearing inside the distributor that was bad........
Yea, the crankshaft sensor is under the distributor and the camshaft sensor is inside the distributor, you cannot change it so you will have to replace the whole distributor.
The crank sensor is not in the distributor, it is in the top of the bell housing. The cam position sensor is in the distributor and is not available separately
It's located on the distributor. You don't have to remove the distributor to replace the sensor. Remove the air cleaner, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the distributor cap, disconnect the camshaft position sensor wiring harness, remove the distributor rotor, lift the camshaft position sensor assembly from the distributor housing Camshaft Position Sensor. Installation, Install the camshaft position sensor into the distributor. Align the sensor into the notch on the distributor housing, connect the wiring harness, reinstall the rotor, reinstall the distributor cap. Tighten the mounting screws, reinstall the air cleaner.
