the hubble telescope is a refracting telescope and it is the biggest one because the refracting telescope can only have a certain range of size for the glass lens because it can only hang on the telescope and it is aproximently 5 meters big the lens. hope it helped

What makes the hubble telescope different from all the land based telescopes you have?

The Hubble telescope is different from land based telescopes in that being in space it does not suffer atmospheric distortion, thus clearer pictures.

Why Hubble Telescope take pictures better than telescopes in observation?

Since the Hubble Telescope is in space, it avoids interference from the atmosphere.

Who came up with the idea for the hubble space telescope?

The focal point of all Hubble Space Telescope (HST) activities is the Space Telescope Operations Control Center (STOCC) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., where the orbiting observatory is managed.

What is the name of NASA's most famous telescopes?

NASA's most famous telescope is probably the Hubble Telescope that orbits the earth.

What are Three telescopes that are currently collecting data in orbit around earth?

-Hubble space Telescope -International Space Station -Kepler Space Telescope

Do hubble telescopes only uses visible light?

There are a number of instruments aboard the Hubble Space Telescope. The primary telescope does collect light in the visible spectrum.

What is replacing Hubble space telescope?

Nothing will "replace" the Hubble Space Telescope. However, a couple of new space telescopes are already in space, and another much more powerful one, the Webb Space Telescope, is under construction and should be launched in 2014.

Why did the Hubble telescope take off into space?

The problem with ground based telescopes is that the atmosphere distorts images, The Hubble space telescope is above the atmosphere and therefore can view with much better clarity.

Why was the Hubble Telescope Founded?

The Hubble Space Telescope was developed (not "founded") because ground-based telescopes are limited because of atmospheric distortions, while a space telescope isn't affected by glare, clouds, rain, or weather.

Which of the following is not an advantage the Hubble Space Telescope has over ground based telescopes?

It is closer to the stars

What is better Reflecting or refracting telescopes?

The most serious astronomical research, such as that done by the Hubble Space Telescope, is done with reflecting telescopes.

What has the hubble space telescope found out about space?

The Hubble spacecraft has found more anbout the stars and planets more clearly then the others saw from other telescopes.
