Nothing stops 'Gamma' rays, however you can block it with 1/2" of lead will prevent 1/2 of the radiation and then it will continue until it is and insignificant amount to record.

Hope this was helpful.

Almost any material can stop this if used in sufficient quantities. However, several common materials used are lead, barium sulfate, concrete, and sometimes depleted uranium.

lead with a high density, since material with a higher density will reduce the intensity of radiation passing through the material....

Is a gamma ray a natural ray?

Yes, a gamma ray is a natural ray. It occurs as a result of changes to atomic nuclei, and we most often see them (gamma rays) appear in radioactive decay.

Can gamma rays be stopped and how?

It seems that any matter will stop part of the gamma rays; to stop most of the gamma rays from passing, you would need a fairly thick layer of matter. The thickness required to block half of the gamma rays depends on the energy of the gamma rays. Just about any matter will do. For more details, check the Wikipedia article "Gamma ray", section "Shielding".
