Everybody's medicare plan covers various medicines and prescriptions depending on what tier the medicine is placed in. A medicine tier is just a category or class of medicine. If you are prescribed a low tier prescription it will cost less than a high tiered one. However if you are prescribed a high cost drug then there is a chance you and your doctor may be able to find a similar low classed medicine and prescribe that instead to save you money.
