Units don't measure things. To measure the weight of a light bulb, you need

some sort of a scale.

Once you have the measurement, you can report it (describe it) using any unit

you choose. Some units may produce numbers that are inconveniently large or

small, and are therefore hard to remember, or write down, or tell to others.

You may be tempted to report the weight of a light bulb in 'grams', but that's

technically not a unit of force. The only proper metric unit of force is the 'newton',

along with its decimal multiples and sub-multiples.

The SI unit for weight is the newton, since weight is a force. However, people often confuse weight with mass; if you mean the mass, you would use the kilogram or the gram.
