Does anyone have a real answer for this? My 1993 Suburban is doing EXACTLY that. I almost fell outta my chair when I saw THIS post....lol
The guy at Autozone said it was the plugs and wires....only a 60.00 fix, but I wanna know if that's really what it could be.
PLEASE email me at someguyinflorida@gmail.com if you know the answer, and Merry Christmas to you all -
try changing your ignition coil
Sounds like you have two separate problems, on acceleration the transmission could be slipping, check the fluid level and have a mechanic look at it. During braking, it is most likely warped rotors, which will need to be replaced to stop the shuddering. As long as the pads and shoes are in good repair, the shuddering during braking will not harm anything aside from it being annoying. The transmission can suffer serious irreplaceable damage if it is not checked out immediately.
Shudders refers to the act of convulsing and trembling. This is commonly associated to fear, revulsion or medical problems.
brake disc broken
If a Zx2 shudders and dies out at stops and idle, the idle might need adjusted. If the idle is set too low, it will not maintain enough power.
First thing I would do is make sure that all the lug nuts are on all the tires and that that they are TIGHT. Another possibility is that when the tires were rotated that some of the wheel weights were knocked off.
It is either cold, or very scared.
A slithery snake sometimes shudders at a sandy sandwich.
GENERALLY, WHEN A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE SHUDDERS WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATING, IT IS ONE OF THE INSIDE CV JOINTS THAT IS OUT. THERE ARE DRIVE SHAFTS THAT COME OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION, AND THEY HAVE BOOTS ON THE INSIDE CLOSE TO THE TRANSMISSION, AND BOOTS ON THE OUTSIDE CLOSE TO THE WHEELS. THE INSIDE BOOTS AND JOINTS TEND TO SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION WHEN THEY ARE OUT. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Probably have a warped or out of round brake rotor or brake drum.
Have the motor mounts checked.
