What might cause drivers side upper suspension steering noise on a 1995 Grand Marquis?

If it's a squeaky type sound like mine has it's the upper ball joint, you can't grease them so the eventually wear to metal to metal. Open the hood stand right over the tire and look down, you'll see the upper ball joint. Push down on the car and you should hear the squeak.
