When he was a child, Temujin was the son of a tribe's leader in the Mongolian steppe. His father was poisoned by another leader and therefor left Temujins home defenceless, the other tribe attacked his home and kidnapped his mother and wife, leaving him alone Temujin sought refuge in another tribe, of which he had become the blood brother of the leader. With a small army Temujin attacked the rival tribe and was reunited with his mother and wife, after the raid, many soldiers of the other tribe wished to join Temujin. As he was fair to his riders, after that his motivation was to unite the Mongolian steppe and create a strong, powerful empire.
