That the world is a scary place with all the war, death and stuff but we as Christians should stop talking about doing something and just do it.

"I don't want to live I don't want to breath, unless I feel you next to me," and he wants God to comfort him "I don't want to sleep, I don't want to dream, cause my dreams don't comfort me the way you make me feel."

He is saying in the song, I don't want to live, I dont want to breathe, Unless i feel you next to me, you take the pain I feel. waking up to you never felt so real. So he is saying simply that without God, it's like being in a coma. Your nothing without God.

And that unless we wake up and do something to change the way things are, then his kids are going to have nothing or no one to look up to when they grow up. So, pretty much he sums the entire comatose album by opening Awake with Hero.
