Reggae influenced Dub, dancehall, dub step and Reggaton (South American music with a Reggae time signature but a club feel like Pitbull or Daddy Yankee).

It also had an effect on the foundation of Rap and Hip Hop. It stems from Jamaica and Great Britain as Jamaica was a Colony of the British Empire. It was a way to voice political idealisms and opinion, it has had a huge impact on African music as well.
