Some are simply sugar water, basically. Some are isotonic replacement solutions that replace things like magnesium , calcium, potassium, things that are lost by massive sweating and MAY cause muscle cramps or heart arrythmias if not replaced. Read labels, and don,t down sports drinks if you are a couch potato , as they are made for athlete's or at least someone breaking a sweat.
