A favorite poem of John F Kennedy was John-John written by the Irish poet and republican leader Thomas MacDonagh. MacDonagh was a leader of the 1916 Easter rising and was a signatury of the Irish proclamation of Independance. He was executed on the 3rd of May 1916 along with the other leaders. The poem was read out at the funeral service for John Kennedy.
