Any operating system will use a quad core processor, but many of the older operating systems cannot use the multiple cores-- they simply weren't programmed to do so. In general, anything produced within the past couple years will utilize a quad core processor.

Many applications, however, are not programmed to use four cores, though there is a growing acceptance to use multiple cores to speed the process.

As for operating systems, any recent Linux distro, Mac OS X, Vista and Windows 7 will use four cores, but in general, the newer the OS, the better the utilization of all four cores.

What is the advantages or dis advantages of dual core processors?

Multiple processor systems allow you to run multiple programs at the same time. Generally this means a system-wide boost in performance (when compared to a single CPU machine). This is especially true when you have one program that takes a lot of CPU time and would normally bog down your whole system. On a dual core machine, you have a whole other processor free to run your other, less intense, programs.

Explain the need for different types of processors?

Basically there are two types of processors which are manufactured by two companies and they are Intel and AMD. Now there are a number of varieties available in both Intel and AMD. Intel offers Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Celeron, Pentium II Xeon, Pentium III, Pentium II and III Xeon, Celeron with Pentium III Based, Pentium 4, Pentium M, Intel Core, Dual Core Xeon LV, Intel Pentium Dual Core, Intel Core 2. Pentium Duo, Pentium Dual Core, Core 2 Quad, Intel Pentuim 2 Dual Core Processor. AMD processors include AMD Athlon, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon X2, AMD Athlon Xp, AMD Duron, AMD Sempron, AMD Turion, MD Opteron and AMD Phenom 1. Moreover, there are various processors offered by various companies like Macintosh processor. In other words different processors are used for different types of technology.

Can CSGO Run On My Macbook Air Early 2014 Specs 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 -4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 -Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB?

Possibly. You need at least a 2.0 GHz processor but on a Mac it needs less processor speed than on a Windows PC. You have enough Ram and a good enough Graphics Card but the processor may let you down.

Is an Intel core prossessor better than a quad core prossessor?

The question you're asking, unfortunately, is not worded correctly. An Intel processor is a family of processor, where a quad-core processor is a type of processor. The Intel family includes many types of quad-core processors. However, to try and disambiguate what you're asking, an Intel core processor will be good, no matter what type it is. An Intel quad-core processor - for example, the Intel i7 - will perform fantastically well. The other main type of processor manufacturer - AMD - also have quad-core processors. However, a lot of it is down to opinion and machine build as to whether Intel is better than AMD, but personally, I believe Intel will out-perform and out-last an AMD processor.
