Spleen in particular and lymphoid tissue in general remove old blood cells . Spleen is a lymphoid organ, situated left and back side of stomach. That region is called left hypochondrium. It has anterior and posterior ends. Superior, inferior and intermediate border. It hasvisceral and diaphragmatic surface. It lies close to the ribs 9, 10 and 11.
