Is compressor running? If refrigerant charge is low it will not
A refrigerant compressor will be hot when running whether or not the charge is too high or too low. If the charge is too low, the compressor will cycle on and off. If too high the compressor may not run at all.
read the manufacturers logo on the side of the unit and weigh the charge
Could be a blown fuse or low refrigerant charge
DISCONECT THE BATTERIE CABLE FOR 10 MINUTES ,AFTER YOU RECONNECT THE BATTERI YOU CAN CHARGE THE AC. COMPRESSOR
drive cycle for 1998 pontiac grand prix, 3.8 engine, no super charge?
Low refrigerant charge? Blown fuse?
You can find the refrigerant charge port on top of the air conditioner compressor. The refrigerant charge port will be labeled as the low pressure port.
That won't keep the car from starting, but will keep the A/C compressor from running.
Same problem and question, compressor locked up. Battery won't keep a charge. Does the belt send charge to battery?
compressor runs quieter than usuAL and overheats
Back of the compressor.
Seized? Low freon charge? High head pressure?
Check charge. (R12)
The amount of oil charge required for an automotive AC system is specific to the car. There is not standard amount for all cars.
Only charge the system from the low pressure side.you could blow the can of freon up in your hand otherwise.
Alternator is not putting out a charge.
Evacuate and vacuum the system using approved equipment. Loosen and remove the belt. Remove the hoses. Remove the compressor. Reassemble using new compressor. Vacuum, leak check, then charge the system.
When recharging the AC, use a jumper wire across the low pressure sensor. That will allow the AC compressor to turn on and draw in the refrigerant. ................... Usually placing a jumper across the low pressure sensor is unnecessary (I have recharged quite a few fully-empty systems, and each time the compressor will kick on after the first can or two of R134a). The danger in jumping the sensor is that you may be running your compressor completely dry. Double-check instead that the charge port is opening freely, and that your attempted re-charge is not using cheap plastic connectors. The Grand Prix seems to have a pretty stiff schrader valve in the charge port, especially if someone has used "a/c stop leak" in the past, and I've had much better luck with a better-quality metal-ended charge hose.
The pressure in the can of coolant you are adding is usually enough to start the compressor howerver you must have the air conditionig switched on in the vehicle.
The 1993 Ford Ranger air conditioning charge valve can be found on the top of the air conditioning compressor. The charge valve will be marked as the low pressure valve.
port is next to the compressor under the car...
AnswerCheck the manual... where you empty...might need more than 2 cans before the compresor will get full charge. The compressor is about to go outNone of the above - this is normal operation of a cycling clutch compressor.
Always use safety glasses and gloves! To remove the A/C compressor you must evacuate system & properly dispose of old R-134A. Then unbolt and remove old compressor. (You should be certified to handle R-134A to charge system)
