AIDs, or Auto-Immune Deficiency virus corrupts the immune system, causing it to attack itself, which slowly but surely open the body to infections. AIDs in itself will not kill the person, but the many diseases which are free to enter your body after your immune system is destroyed by itself.

HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is not a cell, since viruses are not cells. HIV is a retrovirus, composed of RNA. It infects white blood cells. This confuses the immune system, causing it to attack itself.

What does aids do your immune system?

Aids and HIV are not the same thing though many people think they are. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) attacks your body and destroys your CD4+ cells, which are part of the bodies immune system therfore it slowly weakens your bodies immune system so it can no longer fight diseases as well as it once could. Aids is only when you have a full outbreak of HIV. I am sorry I couldn't be of more help I don't have alot of time right now to give a more discriptive answer.

Over time, as HIV infection progresses, an HIV+ person is less able to fight disease.

How does aids affect a person's lifestyle?

AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a diagnosis given to an HIV+ indivudual after they present certain clinical criteria. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the virus that causes a person to develop AIDS. HIV attacks the part of the body that fights disease, the white blood cells known as T-cells or CD4s. Over the course of a person's HIV infection, there is greater amounts of virus over time and fewer amounts of health disease fighting cells. When the number of white blood cells drops below a certain point, that person is diagnosed with AIDS.

What parts of the body does Hiv and aids effect?

It affects your immune system, what happens is HIV only likes one particular cell in your immune system that is the T Cells (CD4 Cells) and it kills the T Cells off and the more T Cells that die from the virus the more likely you are to get other diseases, cancers, and illnesses. HIV affects the brain also, it can cause memory and cognitive issues regardless of CD4 count and viral load......HIV can also cause problems with balance and walking.......It is different wirh all people depending on the severity and progression. I unfortunatly suffer cognitive damage due to the disease...

Is malaria a bacteria a virus a protist a fungi or a prion?

AIDS is a virus that attacks and replicates inside of a host. It basically destroys your immune system leaving you open to attacks from bacteria, other viruses, cancers, and possibly fungi and mold. Part of the reason AIDS is so dangerous is that it in and of itself doesn't kill you, it just leads to other things being able to attack you with impunity. Another answer:No.HIV Aids is an auto immune disease caused by a virus invading cells in the body and making the victim unable to combat everyday diseases that the immune system would normally fight without the person even being aware of it's presence.

How does HIV AIDS affect a human body?

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the virus that causes a person to develop the disease known as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.) HIV is transmitted through direct contact with infected blood, semen, vaginal fluid or breast milk. When a person is infected with HIV, the virus attacks cells that are associated with immune function. Over the course of time, if left untreated, the virus can cause the individual to have increased difficulty fighting infections and places them at higher risk for opportunistic infections which can be deadly. There are many treatment options available to those who are infected with HIV however. These treatments help to increase immune function and decrease the amount of virus in a person's system. There is currently no cure for infection.
