Buddha (the enlightened one), was a mortal (the prince Siddartha Gautama, who lived in Northern India). He was / is not a god, although he is venerated by Buddhists for having reached enlightenment. There are forms of popular Buddhism (e.g. in Sri Lanka) that incorporate gods to their beliefs, although these are regional variations of Buddhism (which, strictly speaking, in its original form is more of a philosophy than a religion).
