The answer depends on how drinking is defined (once in the last year, once a month, daily, etc) and the age of the teenager. As age increases, so does the percentage drinking at any particular level.
In addition, the proportion of high school students in the U.S. who drink at any particular level has been dropping for decades.

∙ 14y agoMost teenagers will at least experiment with alcohol, because they want to know what it is like, and because it is thought to be the cool thing to do, and because they are in a hurry to take on the challenges and vices of adulthood. As far as I can determine, perhaps 90% of teenagers drink at least to some extent. Less, in Muslim countries and Utah, where there are religious prohibitions.
