What pins do I short on the 16 pin connector of my 1997 Chevy Astro to force a diagnostic mode?

You can't. After 1995, the old ALDL diagnostic connector went to the new federal mandated OBD2 diagnostic port. You need to purchase a code reader, or have a local auto parts store such as AutoZone, Parta America, etc use their reader for free. (actron CP4500 Auto Xray)

HOW 8088 has segment arrangement in its two modes?

The two modes of the 8086/8088, minimum mode and maximum mode, have nothing to do with segment arrangement. The modes determine which pins on the chip have which functions. In minimum mode, certain pins are sacrificed in favor of a smaller implementation. In maximum mode, those pins take on other functions, and the original functions are generated by the Bus Controller chip.

Which pins are used to carry data in half duplex mode?

1985 corvette and the trouble code 12 stays flashing with the car running or the car off but key on what is no reference pulses to Ecm?

Code 12 is a diagnostic code. It sounds like there is a short between pins A and B on the ALDL connector, covered by a small, rectangular black cover, probably just above the driver's right knee. Shorting those pins puts the ECM in that mode.

What pins go to power load and ground on a bridge rectifier for building a DC power supply?

The two pins with the ~ symbol are for the AC input and the + and - are for the pulsing DC output

What is the function of s0 s1 pins?

The S0 and S1 pins serve as configuration inputs in digital electronics, often found in integrated circuits or microcontrollers. These pins allow users to modify the device's behavior or operating mode based on specific requirements or application needs. By setting different logic levels (high or low) on the S0 and S1 pins, the user can select the desired function or mode without requiring additional hardware or software. The precise function of these pins varies depending on the device in use, so it is essential to consult the relevant datasheet for accurate information.

Why do the bridge pins keep popping out of your acoustic guitar when you change the strings?

As the ball end of the string begins to wear the bridge plate a common problem is flying bridge pins. Have you ever tried restringing your guitar only to have the pins pop or fly out when tuning the string to tension? Usually, when a bridge pin will not stay put, wear on the bridge plate is allowing the ball end of the string to pull up and into the plate instead of locking itself against the plate. It could also be a very poorly fitting pin. If wear on the bridge plate is extensive a bridge plate veneer or plugs can help. Another tip which is quite helpful in this instance is to bend a slight hook in the end of the string when replacing the strings. This small "hook" will help the string to catch the edge of the plate and avoid being pulled up into the plate. When the ball end of a string wants to pull into the bridge plate hole the bridge pin must then smash or wedge the string in the hole to prevent it's slippage. Ideally the ball end of the string hooks around the edge of the plate and the bridge pin holds it there. On an instrument without problems or excessive wear it is even possible to remove a few treble string bridge pins when it is strung to tension. Though I do not recommend it, it illustrates the physics.

Daewoo matiz with 16pin d plug for diagnostic codes is it possible to access the flashing codes by shorting pins as with the 12 pin plug?

No you need a hand held scanner,

What is the difference between minimum mode and maximum mode?

Minimum mode in the 8086/8088 provides the functionality of the 8288 bus controller, which means that functions like HOLD, HLDA, WR-, M/IO-, DT/R-, DEN-, ALE, and INTA- come off of the 8086/8088. Maximum mode means that these functions come off of the 8288, in somewhat enhanced form, and the pins are replaced with new meanings like RQ-/GT0-, RG-/GT1-, LOCK-, S2-, S1-, S0-, QS2, and S21, giving the processor extra capabilities.

What is difference between common mode gain and differential gain?

Common Mode gain is the response of a circuit where the input changes relative to some common point, such as ground. A single transistor amplifier is an example. An op-amp can also be an example, if one input is grounded.Differential Mode gain is the response of a circuit where the input is measured across two pins, and the difference between those two pins controls the output, rather than the common mode value of those pins relative to ground. An op-amp in balanced or bridge mode is an example. One way to verify/understand this is to take a properly designed op-amp, connect the two inputs together, and drive them together relative to ground. A properly balanced system will exhibit little or no response on the output. Note: This is also true for AC, so a typical test includes both DC and AC response. In the AC test, imbalance often results from unequal capacitance, whereas DC imbalance results from unequal resistance.

What is the weight of Sydney Harbour bridge?

The Sydney Harbour Bridge weighs 52,800 tonnes. The arch alone weighs 39,000 tonnes. Interestingly, all the weight of the bridge is borne on only four bearing pins, each only 37 centimetres in diameter, yet each weighing over 300 tonnes.
