In 1937, as Earhart neared her 40th birthday, she was ready for a monumental, and final, challenge. She wanted to be the first woman to fly around the world. Despite a botched attempt in March that severely damaged her plane, a determined Earhart had the twin engine Lockheed Electra rebuilt. In her Last Flight, her plane was the specially modified Lockheed Electra 10-E

When she disappeared, she was flying the Lockheed Model 10 Electra. It was a twin-engine, all-metal monoplane airliner developed by the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in the 1930s to compete with the Boeing 247 and Douglas DC-2.

It was called the "Canary"

Amelia Earhart's

first plane wasn't the Electra. She named it the "Canary." Her husband George Putnam bought that plane for her so she could travel around the world. Her first plane might have been the Lockhead

which was the plane she used to fly across

the Atlantic Ocean.

First answer is correct. Amelia's first aircraft was a yellow Kinner Airster that she named 'Canary'. She bought it herself with help from her father in 1921.The Lockheed Vega mentioned in the above paragraph was actually her third aircraft. She named it "Little Red Bus" and flew many famous flights in it, including solo across the Atlantic in 1932

Amelia flew many aircraft in her life. Her first was a Kinner Airster, a small low powered biplane. Later she bought a Lockheed Vega 5 and created many records with this including the first female solo flight across the Atlantic. The final aircraft she flew was a twin engine airliner, a Lockheed 10 which she was to fly around the world. It was on this flight that she disappeared.
