\n. \n The Saddest of All Prisons is a Person's Own Heart \n. \n. \nNathaniel Hawthorne said "The saddest of all prisons is a man's own heart." ... it is always hard to say what an author meant, because we can't talk to him and actually ask. We have to guess. Sometimes it helps to consider …the context in which he wrote... but since this question is out of context, I'll be more general.\n. \nThe idea of being trapped (as in a prison) within your own heart might mean that you have bottled up your emotions so that you can't express them. Being unable to express emotion would probably be damaging to a person, because that would negatively affect interpersonal relationships, and in most cases negate the possibility of a fulfilling intimate relationship with a significant other. Being trapped within your own heart could also have to do with not only emotion, but belief or ideas. Perhaps what you believe and what you want in other ways are in conflict. Remaining in the prison of your heart and not finding a resolution to that conflict could cause a form of self-torture, because going against your beliefs would be painful, and not going against your beliefs would also be painful. Those unresolved conflicts, or bottled emotions would cause a very sad situation for a human being... thus, the quote. ( Full Answer )

I am 15no bf.no first kiss.i have been very sad and depressed lately.do you think it might be because of that reason?
possibly. i went through the same thing. but trust me first kisses are not that great. i hated my first kiss because it wasnt really my choice. its great to have a caring boyfriend. in my opinon your sad because you don't feel wanted. that's how i felt. i am really sorry. i am currently boyfreindles…s also. and kinda heartbroken bacause the last bf i had was a player. trust me though guys are not something to get bant out of shape about. they make you happy at first and then when it ends your more sad then you were before you dated. for example. i have this really good freind who had this amazing boyfriend. they dated for a couple months and then kissed. he kissed her again and told her he loved her. then dumped he rthe next week. she spent the next while crying her eyes out. i guess i really didnt answer our question but this is all i got for you. What is the meaning of ''For of all sad words of tongue or pen The saddest are these 'it might have been' ''?
Out of context : This is the core of regret. Not of regret for past deeds or wrongs done, but for opportunities lost. For most situations in human experience there is a finite window of opportunity. When that window has closed, it is often closed forever. The author is saying simply that there is no… greater sense of despair or loss, sadness, than to realize that something could have happened that was not acted upon.. This is a line from the poem "Maud Muller" by John Greenleaf Whittier.. In the context of the poem: This is still about regret, the road not taken. Young Maud had met a man in her youth who found her attractive, and whom she found equally attractive. She desired for happiness, and to pass on her good fortune by marrying a fair man, and a man of means. By either of them not taking the opportunity when it presented, Maud lived a life of hardship and sorrow that left its mark on her. Her regret was externally visible as well as internally felt. A sad poem is a piece of verse, rhyming or not, that conveys asomber, melancholic mood. Emily Dickinson wrote a lot of sadpoetry.
Well, i suppose it depends on the individual that has the pen, though it's sort of common sense not to give pen (or any pointed object) to a baby/irresponsible child...
Sad Little Houses Amparo R. They can only stand by the bank of the river Buried knee-deep in clay; They can only stare at the drifting garbage, Until they, too, decay. You are 12 years of age and you have never had a boyfriend been fancied or beeen on a date all your friends have though and you are very sad?
Believe it or not most people don't start dating until fourteen, fifteen and most relationships that start before then don't last very long. Stop worrying about it because the more you think about it the more you'll be upset about it. Wait and live your life. Someone will come along soon..
The word 'sad' is connected to a number of very old European words. The Old English word was 'saed', which means heavy or weary. The Old German word was 'satt'. Might have. "Might of" is an error, most likely caused by the contraction "might've", which often sounds quite similar to "might of" when used in conversation. This is one of my favourite examples of a phrase being shaped by unintentionally imitating misheard speech rather than reading the phrase an…d allowing it to dictate the way it is pronounced, and later spelt. It is a big circle of miscommunication. "Might've" is sort of slang. "Might of" is not truly a real phrase. Many people make this mistake. ( Full Answer )

sad! feeling sad is a problem a lot of teenagers face today. we feel sad because of some depressions of our mind. god has crated us to live happily in this wonderful world, so why do we feel sad? mostly we feel sad because of the stress and some problems. problems are common to everyone, no one is p…erfect in this world. if you are feeling sad of a problem, just think about others who have problems than you, then you can feel happy of your self. actually i was always sad a year ago, i didn't feel to study, i didn't want to be with my parents, always i wanted to be alone and cry.. my parents have noticed this and they took me to a psychiatrist, he was very kind to me and he consulted me very softly..still i have a contact with him and now i don't feel sad for nothing as before. i think it's better to consult a psychiatrist and solve your problems. and also when you feel sad try to do something what you like, pray.. you will be ok very soon. don't worry dear, everything will be alright. may god bless you and protect you. The Iliad is set during the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of the city of Troy (Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states. It tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles. It is a sad tale for the Trojans but a happy one for the Greeks.

I think the message of that poem is this: There are many sad little houses in our lives today. These are the things that we don't tend to mind. We just leave them and day by day they are slowly being forgotten. We forget that we have these things. They slowly decay or rot in our faded memory of th…em until they are truly forgotten.
