There are many poisons that affect chickens. Most plants that a chicken would be poisoned by are avoided naturally by the foraging bird. When closely observed, a hen will "taste" food and quickly shake its head to dislodge anything it does not like from its beak. Because the list is extensive I will provide a link to a complete list. Keep in mind that just because it is on the list does not mean you must destroy all these plants, the chicken will ignore most and those it does not, are not toxic in small amounts.
For example: Elderberry, hemp and mint all grow naturally on my farm and the chickens eat small amounts with no ill effects.
When chickens are born, they have loads and loads of poisons and parasites. When the chickens eat thier food there are different kinds of poisons in just one bucket of chicken. So there is the answer to what poisons chicken.
In compliance with local laws describes the way to kill wild chickens. Wild chickens pose problems in attracting predators, competing with domestic fowl, crowing, damaging farms, gardens, groves and landscapes with their foraging, leaving droppings and spreading disease to domestic fowl and wild birds. These problems require contacting the locality's equivalent of animal control, animal protection societies and forestry or wildlife departments since it may be illegal and inhumane to do anything other than net-trap wild chickens with bread, corn, mealworm and oatmeal lures for handling by the appropriate governmental agency.
Avicides are readily available but not used on chickens
drop a huge rock on top of it with a crane. and don't look.
Anything that is alive can essentially be poisoned.
Should you? Absolutely not. Moral reasons aside, there are laws against cruelty to animals.
The same way that you would kill a regular chicken. Grab and snap its neck.
Poison is poison!
1 min.
Yes but are they purple?
Yes. You must follow the instructions on the label carefully and keep the poison away from the chickens and other animals. Rat poison sometimes comes in pellet form and chickens will eat it if it is spread about carelessly. It is often best to locate where the rats are moving and put the poison in a container with an entrance and exit.
Yes. Anitfreeze can poison all kinds of animals, even humans.
Chickens can get a type of flu that's like if you had pink eye, poison ivy, a cold and your hair was falling out all at the same time. It's very contagious to other chickens but not to people.
Cedar wood is poisonous to some chickens because if they inhale the scent of it, it is really poisonous and the chicken will get congested, and sometimes they won't be able to breath, and they die! :-(
It is not likely your chickens would eat enough of the dropping to effect them. Most of the poison will remain in the rats system. The small amounts a chicken may eat should not bother them.

Chickens are chickens because god made them.
A couple of important points: First, depending upon the species, the "wild chicken" you are trying to poison may be protected under the Endangered Species Act of the United States or a similar statute in your country. Poisoning or otherwise deliberately trying to or succeeding in killing these animals may be punishable with punitive fines, imprisonment or both. Second, poison is poison and you can't control what eats it in the wild. Just because you put out a poison for a rat (for example) doesn't mean a raccoon or your neighbor's dog wouldn't eat it either. As the person setting the poison, you are responsible for any deaths that are caused by it, intentional or not. Third, this is a really crude and ineffective method of dealing with stray chickens. You have to hope they eat the poison, that they eat enough to die from it and that it actually works on them (birds are typically not equivalent to mammals in terms of poison). My suggestion would be to contact animal control and notify them of destructive animals in your area. It is their responsibility to take care of this problem, be it trapping or baiting for them. Also, if these chickens are domestic chickens that are running free from your neighbor, you may have a claim of vandalism or destruction of property for what they are doing to your property, the same as if a neighbor's dog dug up your rose bushes. You simply have to be able to show the damage was clearly done by the neighbor's animals.
