Can cause health problems, such as birth defects, nerve damage, cancer, and other effects that might occur over a long period of time.

Top of the food chain species, including herring gulls, bald eagles, mink and peregrine falcons, have suffered from damaged reproductive systems and disrupted hormones therefore meaning a decline in population due to DDT.

Children's immune, nervous and reproductive systems are still developing meaning they are more vulnerable to the effects of pesticides than adults.
