∙ 10y agoMichelson conducted an experiment involving a complex set-up of mirrors and a device he designed known as an interferometer. The device was placed at one end, sending out a beam of light, which was then split and travelled via a set of mirrors. When the two light beams recombined, the constructive and destructive interference patterns were used to measure the speed of light.
