Solid Waste Management
Solid waste management
Air pollution includes some visible and some invisible components. In Los Angeles you can easily see air pollution.
The major forms of pollution are listed below: 1. Air pollution, the release of chemicals and particulates into the atmosphere. 2. Light pollution, includes over-illumination 3. Littering 4. Noise pollution, which encompasses roadway noise, aircraft noise, industrial noise 5. Soil contamination occurs when chemicals are released 6. Radioactive contamination 7. Thermal pollution, is a temperature change in natural water bodies caused by human influence 8. Visual pollution 9. Water pollution
"Environment" includes everything in a defined space -- including humans.
noise pollution and air pollutionNoise pollution is excessive, displeasing human, animal or machine-created environmental noise that disrupts the activity or balance of human or animal life. The word noise comes from the Latin word nauseas, meaning seasickness. The source of most outdoor noise worldwide is mainly construction and transportation systems, including motor vehicle noise, aircraft noise and rail noise.[1][2] Poor urban planning may give rise to noise pollution, since side-by-side industrial and residential buildings can result in noise pollution in the residential area.Indoor and outdoor noise pollution sources include car alarms, emergency service sirens, mechanical equipment, fireworks, compressed air horns, groundskeeping equipment, barking dogs, appliances, lighting hum, audio entertainment systems, electric megaphones and loud people.Air pollution is a release into the atmosphere of any substances, ex. chemicals or airborne particles, which are harmful both to the human and animal health as well as the health of the wider environment.Atmospheric pollution occurs because the release of air pollutants takes place at a rate much faster than they can be accommodated by the environment and removed from the atmosphere without causing serious harm.Pollution had been known to exist for centuries, but it became an issue of serious concern only in the last 200 years or so, mostly due to the industrial revolution.Atmospheric pollution originates from all the parts of the world and travels around knowing no borders.Air pollution' is the introduction of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or cause damage to the natural environment or built environment, into the atmosphere. The atmosphere is a complex dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletion due to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the Earth's ecosystems.Indoor air pollution and urban air quality are listed as two of the world's worst pollution problems in the 2008 Blacksmith Institute World's Worst Polluted Places report.
The Physical Environment includes Abiotic (Lithosphere, Hydrosphere and Atmosphere) and Biotic components (Biosphere).
Prevention of industrial pollution can be done by the use of green or renewable energy. Creating awareness about the importance of environmental conservation can also be a good way to stop industrial pollution.
ecosystem protection is important to me because it includes the environment and the supplies we need to survive
Environment Protection Act, 1986, IndiaThe Environment Protection Act, 1986 was constituted on 19 Nov, 1986, to provide for the protection and improvement of environment and for matters connected with environment. There are four main chapters and different clauses under various chapters which lay down the standards, policies and act of environmental degradations and policies for improvement of environment and prevention of human beings from environmental hazards. I will describe here the main outlines of this act.Environment Protection Act describes the definitions of various entities that are related to environment. Here are excerpts of some of the definitions that are directly taken from the Act."Environment" includes water, air and land and the inter-relationship which exists among and between water, air and land, and human beings, other living creatures, plants, micro-organism and property."Environmental Pollutant" means any solid, liquid or gaseous substance present in such concentration as may be, or tend to be, injurious to environment."Environmental Pollution" means the presence in the environment of any environmental pollutant."Hazardous Substance" means any substance or preparation which, by reason of its chemical or physico-chemical properties or handling, is liable to cause harm to human beings, other living creatures, plant, micro-organism, property or the environment.Second chapter of Environment Protection Act describes the role of central government to take measures for environment protection and its improvement along with the economic development. It includes the appointment of officers, power to give directions, rules to regulate environmental pollution, laying down procedures and standards for industrial waste, emissions, hazardous waste etc.
Environmental pressure are factors that affects the environment by bringing changes to the environment. These factors includes pollution, deforestation, mining and bush burning.
There are three classifications of water pollution. The three classifications includes: chemical pollution, human pollution, and industrial pollution. Microbiological pollution is also another classification of water pollution.
Industrial pollution is dozens, even hundreds of things - even at a simple level it can be air, noise, water, solid waste. If you consider just air pollution, that includes inert particulates, poisonous gases, poisonous solids, acid gases, and lots besides. So there are hundreds of methods used to measure poillution.

Every level of government has some department or agency that deals with pollution. At the federal level, the primary agency in the United States is the Environmental Protection Agency, but numerous other agencies are also involved in dealing with pollution to some extent. For example, the Department of the Interior is responsible for endangered species protection, through an agency called the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Pollution must be controlled to mitigate effects on endangered species. The Department of Commerce, through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Marine Fisheries Service, is responsible for protecting our marine resources, which includes protection from pollution. Every state and local government, for the most part, also has some agency responsible for dealing with pollution. All of these agencies develop regulations to help deal with pollution, ideally in a cooperative fashion. But the truth of the matter is, pollution, not unlike lots of other problems the government deals with daily, is highly politicized. Often, the best actions for the environment from a scientific standpoint are not taken due to political considerations, and sometimes the best science is ingored completely. So the short answer to your question is, the government does a lot, but not nearly enough.

Pollution affects all forms of life. This includes rabbits.
