My Advice:
Well the kind of presents he buys you are some hints. If he tops it off every year, then that's one. But if he does the same old flowers, chocolates, and a teddy bear (or whatever you like), then he might be feeling a little distant from you. You can ask his friends at work or one of his friends girlfriends (or just ask his friends if he doesn't work). But talk to him, then try these, "What is my favorite movie?" or "What is my favorite song?" or if those are right there answers then challenge him a little bit like "What is my favorite TV channel?" or What is my favorite website?" or something.
You'll be able to tell by the way he treats you and the things he does for you. He may say it, but look for more of how he SHOWS it.
