I'm not sure about their beliefs today, but many years ago they believed in many gods, like the sun god, Amon Re. Some people believe they may have built the pyramids to honor Amon Re. They worshipped Osiris, Isis, Hathor, Anubis, Bast, Ptah, Atum, and many others. Each god could do different things.
Egyptians also believed their pharaohs were gods in human form, so I'm guessing that's why they obeyed their every command.

The basic things are:

  • Polytheism (many gods)
  • That all gods had a different job
  • That there was an under world
  • When a person died they would be mummified to be prepared for the under world
  • Their life was tied to their beliefs

We know from their writing and their art that in general the Egyptian had a positive view of life the black land provided most of the Egyptians needs as a result they did not have struggle to make a living
