How do you set the camshaft timing on a BMW 318i?

depending on the year model for 1985-1990 . before even setting camshaft on timing you must have the engine in top dead center if camshaft pulley is disconnected (only) if camshaft is not disassembled then just put the engine on TDC and have distributor in TDC aswell. refer to repairs manual for TDC specs. good luck

How do I get repairs done on my oscilloscope probe?

You can get information on how to do repairs on your oscilloscope probe online. One such website is http://www.radio-electronics.com/info/t_and_m/oscilloscope/oscilloscope_probes.php. The oscilloscope probe is mechanical part of scope. It does not have any electronic circuit. It is better to contact manufacturer for repairs of your probe. In all probabilities you will need replacement than repair as lenses, and fiber-optic cables do not get repaired.

A parallel circuit. All the lights are connected in parallel across the power source.

Light turns on fine but when it is in the off position the fuse blows and the only way it will come back on is if I turn the light on?

The circuit is wired wrong. Contact a qualified electrician to make the necessary repairs. You don't describe the problem well enough to troubleshoot. If there is a fuse involved and it blows you would have to replace the fuse before anything should turn on. If this circuit worked at one time and all of a sudden stopped working then you may have a faulty switch or wires shorted in te switch box. If this is a new installation follow advice from redbeard.
