The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, passed in 1920, protects a person's right to vote no matter that person's gender. In other words, women were given the right to vote.

The 15th amendment applies to women by virtue of the 19th. The Voting Rights Act of 1973 protects the right of all to vote.
