The Harem politics played a huge role in the decline of the Ottoman Empire. When the oldest prince becomes the sultan, he would either kill all of his siblings, or imprison them in the palace, and they were given no education. So if that sultan dies without an offspring, one of his brothers would become the sultan, but because he was imprisoned, he wouldn't know anything, and may even be illiterate. Are there any funny monolog ideas?

I like the one in Aladdin where the genie makes his first appearance: ”Oy! Ten thousand years in a magic lamp will give you such a crick in the neck! (cracks neck) Now that‘s better. So, kid, what’s it gonna be? Cash, camels, casbahs? You must want something.... Hey what did you say you name was?” Aladdin: Aladdin Genie: (mimicking) ‘Aladdin’ He speaks! May I call you Al? So Al, you’re a lot smaller than my last master. Either that or I’m getting bigger! Do these harem pants make me look fat?” It‘s short and easy to memorize, plus it’s kid appropriate. Hope that helps.
