You need a law degree. The law school will tell you what courses are required and the number of electives you have to take. Typically the following are required:
Torts Property Civil Procedure Criminal Law Contracts Professional Responsibility Legal Research, Writing and Oral Advocacy Tax
You will need about 85 credit hours, depending on the school. And this is after finishing college.

To become a practicing business lawyer anywhere you will need to complete your bar exam, after you finish your masters in law.
I have yet to ascertain the knowledge required to become a lawyer.

I think you need Economics, History and Maths (i think that's not necessary).. Maybe biology!
To become a herpetologist you need to study biology and zoology. Or just ask the experienced ones.
