Assuming you just made it, It needs more flour - kneed it into the mix. If it is old homemade playdough & is sticky, it is likely it was stored next to a heat source & I would throw it out.

∙ 14y agohi, ive worked in child care forever and ive always used the recipe on the back of the cream tartar bottle, but use hot tap water and mix the food colouring with that, then mix in a large bowl with a wooden spoon or hands, i think this works better than stove top or microwave and seems to last ages. hope this helps
