If he assures you that he's not and you think he's lying, don't go all over-controlling on him. Encourage honesty, and try to believe what he says. If he means a lot to you, then trusting his answer will get easier. Think of it this way: what's to stop him from suspecting you of cheating? You only have his word, and he only has yours.
