Most Pharmacy schools will have a list of prerequisite course that must be taking prior to entering pharmacy school. Look at the Stanford University Wesite and they have pre pharm school classes listed.

Pharmacists must have a license from the State in which they work. After high school, it usually takes at least 6 years of study, including college and pharmacy school, to become a pharmacist. The person must also pass a test. People who want to be pharmacists should be good at science and math. They should be good at dealing with people. They should also be able to work carefully, because they often deal with strong medicine.

It would seem that any Pharmacy School would have this answer, also it would seem that you could call your local pharmacist and get the correct answer. A high school counselor should also be able to answer this question, too. **************************** As long as you have graduated from high school or completed a GED, it does not matter what type of diploma you have. Either of these is necessary to enroll in college, where you will complete undergraduate coursework before applying to pharmacy school. The pharmacy school will be looking at the grades that you earned in you college coursework, not your high school diploma.

You should focus on college preparation courses, particularly math and science. If your school offers AP classes, you could skip some of these courses in college if you get a decent score on the AP exam. It would also be a good idea to start getting some experience in pharmacy or general healthcare by shadowing a pharmacist or doing volunteer work at a healthcare facility. Contact an advisor at the pharmacy school that you are interested in and find out what their program requires.
