This will depend on how the mousetrap car is constructed, but there would most likely be: 1. Lever 2. Spring 3. Pulley (possible) 4. Wheel and Axle Items that influence force and energy on objects. Change Wheel Size (Wheel and Axle) * Changing the size of the mousetrap car wheels. Make sure you change the wheels, that are the wheels that drive the car. Get smaller CD's, if you used CD's for wheels, or you could get big ones too. The Rod and String (Pulley) * With the metal rod you attach to the mousetrap, you can add either another hole, or a little slit in the rod. Then after one test you can put the string through the hole, and for the second one try putting the string through the second hole. Use the hole they give you on the rod, the one on top. Then make your own hole. It's using the same amount of string, but on one test you have more to let your car cooast more. Rubber Bands * If what you're doing allows you, you can add rubber bands to the front and ack wheels, and see if it goes farther.

Every motor vehicle has many simple machines. The most common are gears within the transmission. Without those, the car could not go anywhere. The gear selector on most cars is a lever. So are the pedals. You pull on a lever to release the latch. The list could go on and on, because door handles are also levers.
