your cheapest bet is to buy an ac bypass pulley, this replaces the ac compressor with just a pulley. you can by them for around $30-40.00. here is a link to one available website. otherwise a new compressors anywhere from $300-500.00!!!! you could also try a smaller belt, but that is kind of a risky operation, considering the belt is only gonna be about $10-15.00 cheaper than the bypass pulley. http://www.1aauto.com/1A/ACBypassPulley/Pontiac/GrandAm good luck
With a special tool available at most parts stores. The tool prresses the pulley on.

Loosen the tensioner pulley. Put the belt around the alternator pulley and the tensioner pulley. Move the tensioner pulley to the right until the belt is tight. Tighten the tensioner pulley.
the only way to fix is to have a garage repair (most likely replace) the AC compressor. You can buy a new belt that is shorter and skips that pulley. I have taken mine to Autozone and we tried 4 or 5 different belts until we found one that fits.
