Depends on the vehicle. It could be 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" heater hose. The year, make and model info would help.

How do you bypass the heater core on a 1999 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6?

There are two heater core hose that goes to the firewall the inlet and outlet. through that hose, you will also have the rear heater core hose attached to a T joint in both the inlet and outlet hose. You splice the hose of the front heater core inlet and connect that to the rear heater core inlet hose. Same goes to the Outlet hose with the T joint using a conncetor which you can buy at your auto parts store, 3/4 inch size. Basically you are bypassing the front heater core that is connected to the firewall. You wont have any defroster and heater for the front, but the rear vents and control will have heat.

Where is heater core located in 1985 dodge b250 van?

Follow the two hoses (usually black) that are about the size of a garden hose from the motor. Those are heater hoses and lead to the heater core.

Why would green radiator fluid pour from the firewall on the passenger side of a 1990 Buick Skylark?

Heater core is Bad Sounds like your heater core is the problem. you can bypass the heater core for the summer and be okay if you do not want to spend the money (or need the heater) till winter. There is an inlet and outlet hose for the heater core in the engine compartment on the passanger side. Go to your local auto parts store an purchase the correct size hose splice and simply connect the two hoses together. This will allow coolant to circlute through everything except the heater core.

How do you replace a heater core in a 1994 Oldsmobile Achieva?

Re: How to replace 95 Achieva heater core... Drain the antifreeze. Keep the drain pan under the heater core hoses. Disconnect the battery. Remove the hose clamps/ 2 hoses fom the heater core from under the hood in the engine compartment. These hoses are hard to reach. You can try to reach the hose clamps from under the raised car. Inside the car: remove the center console if you have one (there is a little clip to pry out from the front of the trans-shift lever), heater ducts and covers and the square black plastic heater core cover. You will need various small sockets. Then just snap the 2 straps loose and replace the core. Make sure that the hoses are not the source of the leaks. Replace the hoses if they are old. One of the hoses is 3/4" on one end and 5/8" on the other end. So, you will need a hose size adapter in the hose if it not a factory hose assembly. I dont remember the size of the other hose.

How do you bypass the Heater Core on a 1996 Ford F150 and is it hard to do?

Simply disconnect the heater hoses going to and from the heater, (Inlet & Outlet) at the firewall. Purchase the proper size hose coupling that will allow you to connect the 2 hoses together. Do not plug these hoses, just connect them together. The coolant will now not flow through the heater core.

How do you plug a leaking heater core in Lincoln Town Car instead of replacing?

Locate the heater hoses in the engine compartment and follow them to the firewall (usually on the passenger side.). Disconnect them and connect them together with the proper size metal barbed hose connector. This will stop sending water to the heater core thus stopping the leak.

How do you bypass the heater in a 1983 Chevy Malibu?

Very simple on that car. On the passenger side firewall you'll see two heater hoses running in. Remove the clamps and pull both hoses from the heater core. You'll lose anti freeze doing this. Either use a hose coupler the correct size or remove one of the hoses from the engine and mount the other hose to that location.

How do you bypass the heater core on a 94 Oldsmobile 88 Royale?

remove both hoses from the heater and join them with a short piece of pipe about the size of the inner diameter of the hoses. use 2 hose clamps to sealed and hold the hoses on the pipe. Or- cut the hoses and do the same type joining. later you will need another pipe and two more clamps if you want to rehook it to your heater core.
