What size torx bit do you need to remove the bracket that holds the rotor on a 96 Lumina LS?

I assume that you have removed the wheel and so on. In order to remove the rotor you will have to remove the caliper and its bracket. Only after you will be able to remove the rotor.


Remove the wheel, remove the brake caliper and the caliper adapter bracket, pull the rotor off of the wheel studs.

The Rotor has a small bolt that holds the Rotor on the shaft. Did you Loosen this bolt?

That's an easy one. Remove the tires and the brake calipers, the rotor simply slides off the lug studs at that point. The caliper mounting bracket, in 99% of vehicles, needs to be unbolted from the axle before it will release the rotor. There are usually only two bolts holding it. If you're asking how to change the condenser, it is under the rotor. Remove cap and rotor, remove condenser wire from contact set (either held in place with a screw or spring tension), remove the screw that holds the condenser bracket ( magnet or screw starter is very helpful), then reverse procedure to install new condenser.


Straight forward - only problem you may run into is the bolt that holds the the rotor. You will need an Allen Bit 7mm to remove the rotor.
