14 guage will be fine. 13 if you have the money. But if youre only going to run two 400watt subs and NOTHING else then you can use 16 guage
You shouldn't run a higher wattage then what the sub's are rated for... You'll blow the subs. If you have two 400w sub's then you either need (at max) two 400w single channel amps or you can get one 2-channel 400w and bridge it but idk if they make 2-channel in that low of an amperage or you can use one 800w 2-channel amp ( don't bridge). If you want to use the 18/00w amp you can use anything over the amperage your putting out .. not under because the wattage on the subs and amps is the max, so for subs you don't want to exceed the max. I have two 2500w boss competition sub's being pushed by a 2000w Pyle power amp and they do great. I plan on adding another identical amp (one for each sub and a 4000w inverter so it doesn't kill my battery and alternator. Anyways to answer this question.. 14g will b good for the 400w sub's (btw)...they don't make 13g ',:l and if you end up using the 1800 I'd go with 12 or 10gauge wire they have rolls of good wire at Walmart or advanced. You can never go to big with wire and the cost for wire doesn't change much of it even does at at all, only with the change in the size of roll (length of wire) . The thicker the gauge the easier it will carry the current and the better your subs will sound.

I have 3 12 Q Power subs at 1500 watts a piece with a 2000 watt proacoustik amp will a 4000 watt pro acoustik amp push the 3 subs better and is Q Power a good brand of sub?
I have 2 q power 1500 watt subs and a 3500 watt proacoustic amp and it pushes it well although not enough so im sure you need more than 2000 watt to push 3 of them.

Depends on what your willing to spend.. For two 1200 watt subs I would go with a 1200 watt amp and run both of then 600 watts ( you don't want to always run subs to full power, because the voice coil might blow or you will light your subs on fire). If your feeling brave you can run a 2000 watt amp 0_o that will annoy your neighbours, but make your car bump!

Yes the amp can push the 2 subs. I have 2 1250 watt 12inch subs and 1 maybe 400 or 500 watt amp and the amp does fine but if you want more bass at lower levels of volume then you want to have a bigger amp. Just make sure your amp doesnt blow your subs.

I have a 760 watt amp powering 2 10" subs and it works fine. my brother has a 1000 watt amp powering 2 12" subs and he got a capacitor. So it really depends on what amp your looking at. if the 760w you wont need one, if the 1000w i would be safe and buy a capacitor. for the 1000w amp you would only need a 1 or 2 farad capacitor.

Definately not the 2000W amp - it will have to work so hard to drive those subs that you'll probably kill their voice coils due to excessive distortion. Some people subscribe to the "matched" concept. EG: 4000W of sub needs 4000W of amp. My personal rule of thumb is that your amp should be 40% more powerful than the subs. This allows you to set the gain on the amp lower, thereby minimizing the afforementioned distortion. Given that you have 4000W of subs, my rule of thumb would dictate a 5600W amplifier. There's no need to be that precise though, a 5000W amp will be quite sufficient.

When buying an amp its best and safe to use the 1:1 ratio. That would mean if subs RMS was rated at 350 watts then get a 350 watt amp. Alot of installers will use 3:1 ratio because the subs max rated at 1200 watts so they say you will need a 1200 watt amp. But the truth is that sub may only peak a fraction of a millisecond. So unless your competing for a title championship there is no need to destroy you subs that you paid so much for.
