It could be a black widow spider if it is small and thin-legged with a shiny round black abdomen and red markings under it. If it's fuzzy with a red spot on it's back, and the front part of the body is more-or-less the same size as back part, then it's a black jumping spider.

I'm not very sure but i think that would be a black widow. Those are very common this time of year (See Related Links, below.)
It is the most deadlyest spider apart from the red back...it is its cousin...the crizone spider
Possibly a Black Widow. Look for a red hourglass on the belly. If there is one, it's venomous.
there is a poisonous spider called the black widow that has a black almost shiny looking body with a red "hourglass" shaped red splotch on their underbelly. if that spider is the one your are talking about...it is poisonous. if you need to see a pic to make sure just look one up in google images
It takes a bit more information to properly identify a spider than what is provided. Note that the black widow is notfuzzy (covered with hairs).
that would be a black widow. very dangerous. stay away from them. not a very nice spider to get bitten by! haha It isn't a black widow. Black widows have a red hourglass shape on their belly.
If the red spot is in an hour glass shape, it's probably a black widow, Latrodectus mactrans.
Some species of black widow have a red dot. A redback spider, the equivalent of a black widow in Australia, also has a red dot on its back. It is all black and quite small and has a big red patch on its back. it is highly venomous. See the related link below for a picture.
The top is shiny black. Some have a red hourglass on the underside, some are solid black. See the Related Link for pictures of black widow spiders.
It is the common "Daring jumping spider," Phidippus audax. It's completely harmless.
The black widow is a shiny, jet-black spider with long legs and a red or orange hourglass-shaped marking on its underside. It is about an inch long, including the legs.
