North Carolina has the highest rate of pet euthanasia. The rate of euthanasia in shelter animals in North Carolina is 99%.
Never. All "pet" dogs should be spayed or neutered. Drive down to your local humane society and ask them about their euthanasia rate - my local shelter was proud of an 80% kill rate, which is 80% too much. Pets should never be bred. If you insist on breeding your pet, you will need to do standard genetic disease testing to check for common conditions such as hip displasia.
yes
The decision to euthanize a pet is typically made by the pet owner in consultation with a veterinarian. It is a difficult decision that involves considering the pet's quality of life, health status, and prognosis. In cases where the pet's suffering cannot be alleviated, euthanasia may be considered the most compassionate option.

They drink water at there own rate. By : Ariah B.
No. Animal euthanasia is not good and is wrong. Here are some reasons why: Animal euthanasia is not natural. Animal euthanasia discourages vets to find new cures. Animals should be cared for until they die naturally. Animal euthanasia discourages vets to actually care for the animals. We shouldn't TAKE the life of an animal. Think about this: if you were to euthanize a suffering animal (due to the cost of a cure for example) did you really love it? Because if you did, would you kill it or care for it? And you never know, your care could result in a healthy, loving pet.
The best way to stop euthanasia is to start or support no-kill shelters and adopt pets from kill shelters and encourage others to as well. Don't buy dogs from pet stores or breeders; for every one that's bought a shelter dog dies. Don't make more dogs when there are way too many out there already! Help shelters retrain aggressive dogs that are normally put to death. We can stop the murder of innoccent creatures one pet at a time!
Euthanasia is from the greek words Eu (good) and Thanos (death). The name says it all - Euthanasia means good death. Euthanasia of pets is a fairly common decision when a terminally ill or injured pet cannot be saved by veterinary intervention and is suffering. Euthanasia of humans, by choice of that person, is a far more controversial topic. Many people believe that they have the right to end their lives at peace and with dignity, whenever they choose. Many individuals feel that a person has the right to decide to die rather than linger, perhaps for years. In such circumstances, the person may feel a burden on their loved ones, and they are often in substantial pain. Others (right to life groups) claim that euthanasia is wrong. Some of these groups are religious and claim that since God bestows life, only God has the right to take it away.
