Take the Uptown A-C-E* (the blue line) or the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line), one stop, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 42nd Street-Times Square.

Transfer at Times Square to the S shuttle train, east across 42nd Street, from Times Square (West 42nd) to Grand Central Station (East 42nd).

Transfer at Grand Central to the Uptown 6 train (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line). Take the Uptown 6 trainone stop to 51st Street.

You will exit the subway at 51st Street and Lexington Avenue. From there, it's just one block north, and three avenue blocks east to 52nd and 1st Avenue: Lexington Avenue ---> 3rd Avenue ---> 2nd Avenue ---> 1st Avenue.

You will be able to tell which way is north/south/east/west because you will exit the subway on the east side of Lexington Avenue. The west side of the street is the Downtown side, and the east side of the street is the Uptown side.

Take the Uptown 1 train (of the 1-2-3, the red line) two stops, from Penn Station (34th Street) to 50th Street. You will get off at 50th Street and 7th Avenue, on the east side of the avenue.

DON'T take the 2 or 3, as they are express trains and will not stop at 50th Street.

Walk four blocks north to 54th Street, and one block east to 6th Avenue.

It's very, very easy. You take the Uptown C or E trains (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to 50th Street. It's only two stops: 34th Street ---> 42nd Street ---> 50th Street.

The 50th Street Station on the C and E trains is located at the intersection of 50th Street and 8th Avenue.

DON'T take the A train, as it is an express train, and will not stop at 50th Street.

The simplest way would be to take the Uptown E train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to 5th Avenue-53rd Street.

You will exit the subway on 53rd Street and 5th Avenue. From there it's just six blocks north to 59th and 5th.

It depends where on 51st Street you're coming from.

You can take the Downtown C or E trains (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 50th Street (at 8th Avenue) to 34th Street-Penn Station.

You can take the Downtown E train from 53rd Street-5th Avenue to 34th Street-Penn Station.

You can take the Downtown 1 train (of the 1-2-3, the red line) from 50th Street (at Broadway) to 34th Street-Penn Station.

You can take the Downtown 6 train (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line) from 51st Street (at Lexington Avenue) to 42nd Street-Grand Central Station. Then transfer at Grand Central to the S shuttle train, west across 42nd Street, from Grand Central (East 42nd) to Times Square (West 42nd). Then transfer at Times Square to the Downtown 1-2-3, one stop, to 34th Street-Penn Station.

You can take the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line) one stop, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 42nd Street-Times Square. Transfer at Times Square to the S shuttle train (color grey) east across 42nd Street, from Times Square (West 42nd) to Grand Central Station (East 42nd).

Grand Central Station is at East 42nd between Park and Lexington Avenues. East of Lexington Avenue is 3rd Avenue, then 2nd Avenue, then 1st Avenue.

You could also take the Uptown E train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to Lexington Avenue-53rd Street. There is more walking involved, as you have to walk 9 blocks south to 44th Street, instead of 2 blocks north from Grand Central. But you don't have to make any transfers.
