There are actually two very different places in New South Wales, Australia, with telephone numbers beginning with 80. Any telephone number beginning with 8 in area code 02 is in Sydney or its suburbs. Any telephone number beginning with 80 in area code 08 is in the area around Broken Hill, NSW, or nearby areas of S.A.

There are a few other places near the edges of NSW where the state line zigs and the area code boundary zags.
