Diabetes is diagnosed when the pancreas, an organ located by the stomache, does not produce enough or any insulin. Insulin is a chemical which allows our body cells to use glucose to make energy. When there is no insulin in the blood, the glucose levels rise and can "spill over" into our urine. A simple urine test can diagnose diabetes if there is glucose present in the urine.

Also, a blood glucometer is a porable machine which can take a blood sample from a prick of blood and can read the levels of glucose in our blood. If there level is high, you can be diagnosed with diabetes. This method is much more accurate, but you should note that the levels differ for that of adults and children.

there are 2 condition cause diabetes type 2. the first is insulisn secretion problems (not enough), the second is resistensi insulin.

The following are the criteria of the American Diabetes Association: Diabetes Mellitus is diagnosed by a 2-hour glucose tolerance test. In this test, the patient has been fasting for 12 hours. A blood test is performed (the fasting blood sugar level). The patient is given a very sweet drink (containing 75 grams of glucose). After 2 hours, another blood test is performed (the post-prandial blood sugar level). The current requirements for diagnosis are: Fasting Blood Sugar

<100 Normal

101-125 Pre-Diabetes

>125 Diabetes Post-Prandial Blood Sugar

<140 Normal

141-199 Pre-Diabetes

>199 Diabetes If the 2 measurements disagree, the worse of the two diagnoses applies. For example, if the fasting blood sugar shows normal, but the post-prandial blood sugar shows diabetes, then the patient is diagnosed with diabetes. Additionally, if any patient has symptoms of diabetes and a blood sugar of 200 or higher, a diagnosis of diabetes is made. Thus, if a patient shows up in the doctor's office with complaints of increased urinary frequency, excessive thirst, blurred vision, etc, and the doctor measures the blood sugar as 200 or more, then the patient is diagnosed with diabetes (without the need for a 2-hour glucose tolerance test).
Diabetes Mellitus can be diagnosed with certain types of blood tests and symptom history taking. Some blood tests include the Fasting Blood Sugar and random blood sugar tests. There are also oral glucose tests.

The following tests are used for diagnosis:

  • A fasting plasma glucose (FPG) test measures blood glucose in a person who has not eaten anything for at least 8 hours. This test is used to detect diabetes and pre-diabetes.
  • An oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) measures blood glucose after a person fasts at least 8 hours and 2 hours after the person drinks a glucose-containing beverage. This test can be used to diagnose diabetes and pre-diabetes.
  • A random plasma glucose test, also called a casual plasma glucose test, measures blood glucose without regard to when the person being tested last ate. This test, along with an assessment of symptoms, is used to diagnose diabetes but not pre-diabetes.

Test results indicating that a person has diabetes should be confirmed with a second test on a different day.

Some people diagnose it themselves ex: [buy a monitor, and see that their sugar is high, smell a weird smell in their urine ect.] But the best way is to go to your dr. if you suspect you have anything.

Glucometabolic abnormalities declined over time in some patients — particularly after COVID-19 infection — other issued remained.

While doctors have been saying that diabetes increases risk of complications including death among patients with Covid-19.

People with diabetes are at no more risk of catching the COVID than anyone else but if you do then you could become more ill.
