I don't think so, mechanical change is when you use something to change the appearance of the object (your Jaw and food for example). Physical change can be caused bye a chemical substance and by and object ( mechanical change )

mechanical is physical- the water hit the rocks until they eroded chemical involves breaking of chemical bonds, ionization and the like (salt dissolving, gas burning, etc)
