satelites, the moon, junk from earth etc.
Light, space, and an opaque object.
Light does not absorb things. Light can be absorbed by things.
they absorb light from before and then when it is dark they glow the absorbed light
Just space. It can be empty space, or filled with matter - though some types of matter will absorb light too quickly. However, the medium that light needs to be transmitted is gravity.
Ozone absorb the UV rays for our comfort. It is because they are made to protect us from that.
Molecules absorb light because of what light does to their electrons. It can cause a molecule's electrons to become excited and then changes from a full shell to an anti-bonding shell depending on how much light is absorbed.

We see things as black when there is no light coming from that direction. Space is mostly empty, and neither generates light or reflects it, so it looks black. We only SEE things that reflect light, or that generate their own light.
There is no chemical that will absorb light and ONLY discharge it in the absense of light, however there are chemicals that will absorb light, store it as heat, and discharge it as light slowly, so that if light is removed it will continue to glow.
well three things happen when light strikes an object Refract Reflect absorb
