smtp(simple mail transfer protocol,),ftp,(file trasfer protocol),ip(nternet protocol).
Application Presentation Session
No. Only protocols that users can see on their screen are considered Presentation Layer based. Hubs and repeaters operate on the physical layer, because it doesn't do anything with the data, it simply forwards it.
Layer 5 - Session layer
The three layers that I could think of are User interface, Client side, and server side.
HTTP would fall into either the Application layer or the Presentation layer. There are conflicting views as to which layer protocols like HTTP belong to, but it would be one of those two.
There are many more than three protocols which can operate at the application layer. Some of these are; Telnet FTP TFTP SMTP IMAP POP DNS RARP BOOTP SNMP CMOT
REST, being that it uses HTTP would fall into either the Application layer or the Presentation layer. There are conflicting views as to which layer protocols like HTTP belong to, but it would be one of those two.
Session and Presentation Layers
PGP works at the Layer 6 - Presentation level.
Which? Where are the Options?WAN Technologies operate & involve Layer1, Layer2 & Layer3 of OSI Model. Example of WAN Technology Protocols are Frame Relay, ATM & X.25 protocols.
Hubs are a physical layer (layer 1) device; most switches operate at the Data Link layer (Layer 2) of the OSI model.
I've always considered it to operate at the transport layer as it;s simply an encrypted version of TCP. However, Wikipedia OSI-model lists it as operating at the presentation layer, as it's concerned with the transformation of data between the application and transport layers.
