This is Newton's 2nd law. Newton originally described this law as force being equal to the time derivative of momentum, however if mass is held constant then the equation F=ma is valid.
"m" is the mass of an object,"a" is the acceleration which is calculated as v-u/t i.e. final velocity minus initial velocity divided by time."F" is the force in Newtons.
