Sorry, but that's not correct. All breeds of dog have the same length of gestation, 63 days.

A female dog comes into "season" (has a heat cycle) twice a year on average. This isn't linked to any particular time of year, it's hormonal.

It's only during a specific time frame during the heat cycle that the female dog will allow a male dog to mate her.
