This is a debatable answer. . Lebanon was part of the Ottoman Empire until 1918. In 1918, due to the Ottoman's loss in World War I, Lebanon became a French mandate. This means that the French had control of Lebanon, according to the League of Nations. It was granted it's independence in 1943; howe…ver, allied soldiers still occupied the country. The last French soldier did not leave until 1946. . Returning to the question, one could say that the "war of Lebanon" could be 1918. . However, there is a much more plausible war, the Lebanese Civil War. In 1975 civil war broke out in Lebanon. This bloody gruesome battle lasted until 1990. It left a very lasting and powerful scar on Lebanese society. . In truth, the correct answer to the question should be either 1918 or 1975, 1975 being the most logical. ( Full Answer )

Today, it is estimated that the Christian population makes up about 39% of the total population. . The maronites are the largest of the Christian groups. They have had a long and continuous association with the roman catholic church, but have their own patriarch , liturgy , and customs. Traditio…nally they had good relations with the Western world , especially France and the Vatican . They traditionally dominated the Lebanese government, and the President of Lebanon is always Maronite. Their influence in later years has diminished, due to their relative decrease in numbers, but also due to the Syrian occupation of Lebanon , which generally benefited Shi'a and other Muslim communities, and was resisted by most Maronites. Today the Maronites are believed to compose nearly 25.2% of the population, scattered around the Lebanese countryside but with heavy concentrations on Mount Lebanon and in Beirut . . The second largest Christian group is the Greek Orthodox . The church exists in many parts of the Arab world and Greek Orthodox Christians have often been noted for pan-Arab or pan-Syrian leanings; it has had less dealings with Western countries than the Maronites. They are believed to constitute about 7.8% of the total population, not counting the Palestinian Greek Orthodox community. . The remaining Christian churches are thought to constitute another 9% (350,000) of the population (Greek Catholics i.e. Melkites about 200,000, Armenian Apostolic, Armenian Catholic, Syriac Orthodox, Syriac Catholic, Assyrians, Protestants) with no single group over 5% of the total population. Christianity is very important in Lebanon and most of the 15mill immigrants are christian. the president of lebanese republic must always be christian maronite and so must the commander of the army. half of lebanese members of parliament must be christian. Falafel is a specific cuisine that is common throughout much of the Middle East. It is theorized, yet not substantiated, that falafel originated in Egypt. It is speculated that it was first made by Copts as a replacement for meat during Lent. It then moved to the Levant area, which includes Lebanon.… There are substantial differences between each country's version of falafel. For example, Lebanon uses chickpeas rather than fava beans. In summation, falafel is certainly a dish from Lebanon, yet one cannot make the claim that it originated in Lebanon. ( Full Answer )

France promised Arabs that they'll give them total freedom if they made revolutions …agains't Al Osmaniyyah, but that didn't happen thought the Arabs kept their words and helped France win the War. After the War ended, France took advantage of this and dominated Lebanon and half Syria, while England dominated Palestine and Irak, then gave Palestine to the Juwish so they can build Israel and help them in World War 2. But the arab revolution kept on going even after World War 2, and they succeeded in getting their freedom and kick France outside Lebanon and England outside Irak. Too bad they couldn't kick the Jewish out of Palestine Too. P.S. , I'm Lebanese. ( Full Answer )
